17 Jan 2011 – the Court of Appeal heard Yong Vui Kong’s appeal to stay his execution on the grounds that he had been denied a fair clemency process. M. Ravi argued that the process of clemency, which was denied by the President last December, had been prejudiced by public statements made earlier in the year by the Minister of Justice in favour of his execution. The Court of Appeal reserved judgment which means that the decision could be delivered any time and Yong executed if the appeal and the clemency is rejected.
31 August 2010 – The court registrar has set Vui Kong’s appeal against the judicial review decision by Justice Steven Chong for “the week commencing 17 Jan 2011″. Now Vui Kong can live to celebrate his 23th birthday & Chinese New Year!
25 August 2010 – Changi Prison Authority send letter to VK Counsel saying that the deadline for his plea of clemency is extended to a future date pending to his appeal against the High Court’s ruling on judicial review.
25 August 2010 – VK Counsel submit the appeal on the Judicial Review today
24 August 2010 – Vui Kong family submitted the clemency petition to Istana Singapore
22 August 2010 – Save Vui Kong campaign hit the initial goal and received more that 100K signatures
